EU en VS spreken tijdens top over Iran, Afghanistan, vredesproces in het Midden-Oosten, financiële crisis en klimaat (en)

On Friday 6 March, President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council and Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg will chair the EU – USA Troika meeting in Brussels.

The U.S. delegation will be lead by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. The EU Council will be represented by Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana i, while Commissioner in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner i will represent the European Commission.

The main topics of the meeting will include: preparation of the EU-USA Summits, relations with Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, situation in the Middle East, financial and economic crisis and climate changes.

Press conference will be held at 13:30 at the V.I.P. entrance of the building of the Council of the European Union in Brussels.
