The theme of this edition's Privacy Platform is 'Targeted surveillance: can security and privacy be reconciled?' The panel will discuss the possibilities for targeted surveillance instead of mass surveillance and its potential for law enforcement and secret services. How does targeted surveillance differ from mass surveillance and how does it enable secret services to get the right information on terrorist suspects? Can targeted surveillance, combined with the right safeguards, protect the right to privacy while serving security? These questions will be addressed in this Privacy Platform's panel from a policy-, technical and legal perspective. More info here.

De D66 i-delegatie in het Europees Parlement i telt één lid. De delegatie maakt deel uit van de fractie Renew Europe i, waarin ook de VVD-delegatie i vertegenwoordigd is.
