Each House shall examine the credentials of its newly appointed members and shall decide with due reference to rules to be established by Act of Parliament any disputes arising in connection with the credentials or the election.

Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect. 

The Chambers themselves decide whether new members meet the requirements to be members of the Chamber. Any disputes regarding the election of members of the Chamber are also decided by the Chambers themselves.

The examination of credentials is regulated in the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
