Artikel 142

The Constitution may be brought into line with the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands by Act of Parliament. Articles 139, 140 and 141 shall apply mutatis mutandis.

Explanation

Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect. 

The final article of the Constitution stipulates that the Constitution may be brought into conformity with the Statute for the Kingdom of the Netherlands by law. Since the Constitution must observe the provisions of the Statute, the ordinary legislative procedure is sufficient for such an adjustment. However, this possibility of adjustment has never been used to date.
