Artikel 31: Heir appointed King

Artikel 31
  1. An appointed King may be succeeded only by his legitimate descendants by virtue of hereditary succession.
  2. The provisions on hereditary succession and the first paragraph of this article shall apply mutatis mutandis to an appointed successor who has not yet become King.

Explanation

Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect.

Only the legitimate descendants of an appointed king or appointed successor are eligible for the succession to the throne, so not the brother or sister of the appointed king or appointed successor.
