Upon accepting office Ministers and State Secretaries shall swear an oath or make an affirmation and promise in the presence of the King, in the manner prescribed by Act of Parliament, that they have not done anything which may legally debar them from holding office, and shall also swear or promise allegiance to the Constitution and that they will faithfully discharge their duties.

Explanation
Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect.
The Constitution does not contain a literal text for the oath or promise that new ministers and state secretaries must take. Just as with the oath taken by the King, the Constitution contains only the substantive content of the oath.
The content of the oath or promise is laid down in the Act on the Swearing-in of Ministers and Members of the States General.
Pursuant to the Act on the Use of Frisian in Legal Proceedings, the oath or promise may also be taken in Frisian.
