Artikel 87
  1. A Bill shall become an Act of Parliament once it has been passed by the States General and ratified by the King.
  2. The King and the States General shall inform each other of their decision on any Bill.

Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect. 

A bill only becomes law once the King has 'ratified' it, after the Senate and the House of Representatives have agreed to it. This means that the King has placed his signature under the bill. Because the ministers, not the King, are responsible, the law is co-signed by the responsible minister(s) and/or state secretary(ies) in accordance with Article 47.

This article reflects what is stated in Article 81, namely that the government and the States General make laws together.
