Overleg over versterken en verbeteren bemiddelingsrol EU in conflictgebieden (en)

On 28 July, a meeting on how to strengthen EU's mediation capacity will be held in Brussels.

The meeting will be hosted by the Swedish Presidency of the European Union in cooperation with the EU Council Secretariat.

Carl Bildt, the Foreign Minister of Sweden, and Javier Solana, the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, will open the meeting.

Participating will be EU's Special Representatives who play an active role in supporting peace processes in Sudan, Kosovo, Georgia, Middle East, Afghanistan and several other countries and regions.

The consultations will form an important part of the Presidency initative to map EU's efforts in support of dialogue and mediation processes and how this capacity could be strengthened.
