vrijdag 30 juni 2006
  • The European Commission is to publish the first results of the Standard Eurobarometer (EB) 65.
  • Carried out between the end of March and the beginning of May, the study gives an insight into the state of mind of the Europeans during the Future of Europe debate.
  • The study reveals satisfaction among Europeans. The economic climate is being perceived in a more favourable light than at the time when the last EB was carried out. The level of personal satisfaction also remains high.
  • In addition to an insight into the avian flu and the citizen’s perception of the EU’s action in this field, two broad issues are addressed : support for the EU – with an evaluation for example, of the image associated with the European Union among citizens along with an examination of how understood by the Union citizens feel.
  • The survey carried out by TNS Opinion and social for the European Commission covers 30 countries and territories: the 25 Member States of the EU, the two countries in the process of adhesion and the two applicant countries; and the turkish Cypriot community.
