De Europese Dagen van de Concurrentie (en)

The purpose of the event is to stimulate exchange between European competition authorities, economic jurisdictions, businesses, associations, practitioners and academics.

Within the framework of the French Presidency, this event will be organised by the Conseil de la Concurrence (French Competition Council) and the French Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Employment, in partnership with the European Commission and the European Institute of Public Administration's support.

It will take place on 18 November in Paris at the Ecole du Louvre (Amphithéâtre Rohan, 99 rue de Rivoli, 75001, Paris) and on 19 November at the 'Pierre Mendès-France' Conference Centre (139, rue de Bercy, 75012, Paris).

Christine Lagarde, the French Minister for the Economy, Industry and Employment, will give the opening speech at the event, held in the presence of Neelie Kroes i, European Commissioner for Competition, Meglena Kuneva i, European Commissioner for Consumer Affairs and Luc Chatel, the French Minister of State the Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Employment with responsibility for Industry and Consumer Affairs, Government Spokesman.

The five round tables organised during this event will be devoted to:

  • considering consumer interests and welfare when drafting economic regulations;
  • consumer interests at the heart of implementing competition rules;
  • corporate competitiveness in a globalised economy: how to balance competition and innovation?;
  • how to build a common competition policy with Euromed?;
  • developing Euro-Mediterranean competition policy: results and outlook?
