Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with the Council Decision 2011/430/CFSP updating the list of persons, groups and entities subject to Articles 2, 3 and 4 of Common Position 2001/931/CFSP on the application of specific measures to combat terrorism

On 18 July 2011, the Council adopted Council Decision 2011/430/CFSP1. The Council Decision consists of an update of the list of persons, groups and entities subject to the measures provided for in Common Position 2001/931/CFSP on the application of specific measures to combat terrorism.

This declaration is made to announce that the following countries have declared that they share the objectives of Council Decision 2011/430/CFSP:

The Candidate Countries Croatia*, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, and Montenegro*, the Countries of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidates Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the EFTA country Liechtenstein, member of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Georgia, align themselves with this declaration.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
