MEPs from right and left-leaning parties in the European Parliament have called for the "martyrs" of the Arab Spring to get the 2011 Sakharov prize for human rights. Some deputies voiced concern about alleged abuses of enemies by Libyan rebels and the future role of women in the Islamic country.
