Informele vergadering van het EU-arbeidscomité in Warschau (en)

An informal meeting of the Employment Committee, organized by the Polish Presidency, will be held in Warsaw on 11th and 12th October.

The meeting will take place right after the conference on, ‘Employment challenges and opportunities in a changing demographic environment,’ jointly organized for the first time by the EU Employment Committee (EMCO) and EU Member States’ Heads of Public Employment Services (HoPES).

During the meeting, the Committee will discuss the conclusions on employment policy arising from the, ‘Employment challenges and opportunities in a changing demographic environment,’ conference,

The European Commission will also issue information on the latest labour market developments based on its autumn quarterly review.

In accordance with the Polish Presidency’s proposal, a discussion on a draft report devoted to meeting the employment objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy will be the central topic of the informal meeting. The report is to constitute the basis for developing the Council’s draft conclusions on employment and labour markets.

The Commission will be presenting the Committee members with a draft version of benchmarks for the assessment of education and training to increase employability and mobility for learning purposes. A discussion on the preparation of a similar instrument for employability assessment is expected.

The Committee will also share and exchange views on employment priorities for 2012.

The Employment Committee meeting will take place in the conference rooms

of the Radisson Blu Hotel, 24 Grzybowska street, Warsaw.
