Nationale ministers van defensie bij elkaar in Brussel (en)
On Thursday, 30 November Minister of National Defence Tomasz Siemoniak will participate in the EU Defence Ministers Meeting that will take place in Brussels.
The session of Foreign Affairs Council with participation of the EU Defence Ministers will begin with EDA Steering Board session dedicated among others to progress in realisation of Pooling & Sharing initiative, being one of the priorities of Poland’s presidency.
During afternoon working session Ministers of Defence will discuss among other things military operations conducted by the EU - EUFOR i Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUNAFOR Atalanta, counter piracy operation at the coast of Somalia and training operation of security forces EUTM Somalia. Another topic of this session will be the EU relations with non-EU partners, including eastern neighbours of the EU.
Ministers of Defence together with Ministers of Foreign affairs will participate in working dinner, during which the future of the EU CSDP will be discussed.
Bilateral meetings of Minister Tomasz Siemoniak with Defence Minister of Germany and Defence Minister of Finland are also planned for that day.
During official meetings Poland will be represented among others by: Undersecretary of State in the MoND Zbigniew WLOSOWICZ, PhD, Polish Military Representative to Military Committees of the EU and NATO MajGen Janusz BOJARSKI and director of International Security Policy Department of MoND Marcin KAZMIERSKI.
The session of FAC with participation of the Defence Ministers is the last high level meeting during the presidency of Poland in the EU Council, in which Ministry of National Defence takes part. It will be political summarising of Polish presidency in the field of CSDP.
