Herman Van Rompuy i, President of the European Council made today a statement following the results of the referendum in Ireland on the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union
"I welcome the positive outcome of the referendum in Ireland on the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union. With this vote, the Irish people have given their endorsement and commitment to European integration. This result is an important step towards recovery and stability."
