The UK government is the latest to boycott the Euro 2012 football championship in protest against the imprisonment of Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko. A Foreign Office spokesman accused the Ukrainian government of "selective justice". German Chancellor Angela Merkel i and the European Commission have also pledged to boycott the event.
