Italië nam vorig jaar 4 miljard euro aan bezittingen maffia in beslag (en)

Italy's ministry of interior announced on Wednesday that in 2011 it seized over €4 billion worth of property and assets belonging to the Mafia. Italian police also arrested some 2,000 people affiliated with Mafia activities. Around €1.6 billion was confiscated in Sicily alone. Campania and Calabria are also Mafia hotspots.
