On Thursday 13 June 2013, the European Commission will adopt a draft proposal for an amended EU directive on nuclear safety. Following the Fukushima nuclear accident in March 2011, the European Council asked the Commission to carry out stress tests, together with the European Nuclear Safety Regulators’ Group (ENSREG), and to review the EU nuclear safety legislation.
