EU rules concerning the purchase of package tours or holidays date back to 1990 - before the arrival of online shopping, widely used for travelling purposes today. On Wednesday, the Commission put forward a proposal aimed at ensuring the rights of consumers, including the right to information, liability for inadequate performance and insolvency protection.
