Experts op financieel en economisch gebied in Vilnius voor Eurofi forum (en)
More than 500 participants related to the European as well as global economy and finance will attend the Eurofi Financial Forum in Vilnius on 12-13 September. The event is held in association with the Lithuanian Presidency i of the Council of the EU.
The Forum will be opened by Lithuanian Minister of Finance Rimantas Šadžius and Lithuanian Central Bank Governor Vitas Vasiliauskas, who will present the main priorities of the Lithuanian EU Presidency in the financial area.
The participants of the event will discuss the improvement of the resilience of the financial sector to foster the EU economic recovery, including the development of the Banking Union, the Bank Recovery and Resolution Framework, long-term financing of investments for economic growth among other issues (the detailed agenda is available here).
The European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier, Chair of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) of the European Parliament Sharon Bowles i, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Werner Hoyer, Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism Klaus Regling, Ministers of Finance Pierre Moscovici i (France), Jurgen Ligi (Estonia), Giannis Stournaras (Greece), Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank Jörg Asmussen, Governors of Central Banks Patrick Honohan (Ireland), Marek Belka (Poland) and other high level representatives of the public sector, central and well-known commercial banks, business associations and independent financial experts will take part in the discussions.
The Eurofi Financial Forum in Vilnius is organized by Eurofi in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, Bank of Lithuania and Investors Forum. This will be the first time an event of such scale and importance has been organized in Lithuania.
