Europese groei en financiële stabiliteit centraal tijdens IMF-top (en)

On Wednesday, Lithuanian Finance Minister Rimantas Šadžius has left for Washington DC to participate in the G20 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting, as well as the Annual Meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group on 10-12 October, 2013.

At the G20 meeting the Lithuanian Presidency (represented by the Finance Minister Šadžius), together with the European Commission and the European Central Bank, will represent the interests of the European Union. At the IMF International Monetary and Financial Committee meeting, the Lithuanian Finance Minister will represent the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Finance Minister Mr. Šadžius will take note of IMF reform, development of the Banking Union, and other measures to ensure financial stability in Europe. The Minister will also emphasize the importance of growth and financing for investment, including measures to improve access to funding for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
