Raad van bestuur CEPOL bijeen in Vilnius (en)
On 12 - 13 November 2013, the meeting of the European Police College (CEPOL) Governing Board is going to take place in Vilnius. During the meeting, the closing of the current CEPOL seat in Bramshill (the United Kingdom) and relocating it in a different EU Member State, budget implementation 2013 are going to be discussed.
Also the Initiative of the European Commission to merge two agencies - CEPOL and Europol - into one common agency will be considered. At the moment, the Initiative has not received the necessary approval from the of the EU member states. The CEPOL work programme and budget 2014 adoption, staff policy plan 2015-2017, audit reports are to be approved as well. CEPOL exchange programme, activity of working groups and other issues will be discussed.
The main goal of CEPOL, established in 2005, is to encourage the cooperation of the European Union (hereinafter - EU) Member States in the field of improving police officers’ qualification, to implement the common European concept, including the fight against criminality, crime prevention and ensuring public order with the help of the training.
