International Women’s Day: preventing violence against women across the EU
Met dank overgenomen van Europees Parlement (EP) i, gepubliceerd op woensdag 5 maart 2014, 9:34.
MEPs and national MPs will debate how to make EU and national measures to prevent violence against women work better across the EU at a European Parliament Women’s Rights Committee conference, to be held today to mark this year’s International Women’s Day on 8 March. The conference takes place from 15.00 to 18.30 in room JAN 2Q2.
The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights will present the results of an EU-wide survey on gender-based violence against women, and EP President Martin Schulz will open the conference with a video message.
The European Parliament last week voted a resolution calling on the European Commission to table measures by the end of 2014 to prevent gender-based violence against women.
