Italy wants EU to take lead in migrant sea rescue operations

Italian authorities are to ask the EU to take the lead in search and rescue operations for migrants in the Mediterranean sea, reports Reuters. Prime minister Matteo Renzi says the EU's border agency Frontex should take charge of Italy's naval operation, Mare Nostrom.
