Italy's Renzi promises tax cuts in the billions

Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi i promised on Monday to cut taxes €18bn in 2015 and reduce spending in order to boost growth and jobs. The cuts will be unveiled on Wednesday in time to meet the EU's deadline on national budgets. Trade union federations have organised demonstrations for 25 October.
