Changes to EU economy statistics include drug trafficking

Changed rules to the way EU countries' economic statistics are calculated now allow for investments and research, but also drug trafficking, prostitution and smuggling to be taken into account in the gross domestic product. Italy has therefore come out of recession, based on this change, writes Spiegel Online.
