Moscovici in favour of 'EU option' to replace troikas

EU economics commissioner Pierre Moscovici Monday said the troika of international lenders (International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank and European Commission) overseeing the implementation of bailouts in Greece and Cyprus "should be replaced with a more democratically legitimate and more accountable structure based around European institutions with enhanced parliamentary control."
