Now available: The European Committee of the Regions - An online introduction

Met dank overgenomen van Comité van de Regio's (CvdR) i, gepubliceerd op maandag 13 april 2015.

Understanding the precise mechanics and workings of the European Union can sometimes be a challenge. The online introduction on the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is intended to help unravel the European Union and its institutions, including the CoR. Its purpose is to help to understand what the Committee does and how it works; it is a resource tool to help learn how the Committee fits within the European Union and what role the members play within it.

It is divided into three modules, each of which has four sections:

  • 1)
An insight into the CoR and the European Union: This module gives an overview of the EU institutional setting and the role of the CoR. It includes the political priorities of the CoR and the other EU institutions from 2014 to 2019.
  • 2)
How the CoR works: This module contains information on the organisational structure of the CoR and how it operates, including information on how its opinions are drawn up and what platforms, networks and communication activities are available.
  • 3)
Members: your role, your rights: This module provides practical information on the role that members play and their rights. It includes information on their involvement in CoR activities, political groups and national delegations.
