EU OPEN DAYS 2015: online registration launched
Despite registration having only recently opened, some 900 participants have booked their places for the 13th European Week of Regions and Cities - the largest annual event for everyone interested or involved in EU regional and urban policy. With 6 000 participants once again expected to come to Brussels on 12-15 October 2015 and take part in over 100 workshops/debates, anyone interested in attending is encouraged to apply soon and register before the closing date on 28 September.
"Europe's regions and cities: Partners for investment and growth" is the slogan for the 13th OPEN DAYS. More than 600 speakers, including 110 elected politicians, will stimulate debate. The event will once again be a forum for national and regional managing authorities, final beneficiaries and EU institutions to discuss novel approaches for implementing about 400 new Cohesion Policy programmes, and over 100 programmes financed in the field of rural development and fisheries policy, worth around EUR 500 billion until 2020. The OPEN DAYS major social event on 13 October will be the occasion to discover the winners of the RegioStars and Photo Competition Awards.
As a novelty, OPEN DAYS goes urban this year on Wednesday 14 October, with a series of events organised in the Brussels "Canal Area", an ambitious urban renewal project, to facilitate international exchanges on urban development. Visits to urban projects will reveal concrete examples of how urban revitalisation happens in Brussels. Search for "14URB" encoded sessions in the OPEN DAYS programme and register soon, as places are limited.
The European Week of Regions and Cities will be complemented by more than 300local events, which will run from September to November all across Europe. From September onwards all the information and details about the events will be available in country leaflets and an online interactive map via the OPEN DAYS website. Be part of it!
Join the debate and take full advantage of this unique networking event. Consult the programme and don't forget to register at www.opendays.europa.eu, by 28 September.
The OPEN DAYS is the biggest annual event on regional and urban development, jointly organised by the European Committee of the Regions and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy
