Ireland to take 4,000 asylum seekers and refugees

Ireland announced it will accept 4,000 people under the European Commission's relocation and resettlement programmes. 2,900 asylum seekers will come from the latest EU relocation plan, in addition to 600 from the previous plan, and 520 refugees. "It is expected that these numbers will be augmented by further family reunifications."
