The European Alliance group will host a lunchtime briefing on Scotland's role in the UK Government's EU Renegotiations with Stephen Gethins MP.

Mr Gethins, who was previously a special advisor to EA at CoR, recorded a video in Wesminster anticipating the lunchtime event to be held on Thursday, November 12.

Stephen Gethins MP, SNP European Affairs spokesperson, following David Cameron's speech on EU reforms, said: “It is becoming increasingly clear that David Cameron is struggling to get the deal he needs to placate his party’s Eurosceptics.

"At the same time as losing friends and influence across Europe, the Prime Minister has failed to properly consult the Scottish Government, which flies in the face of the so-called respect agenda the Tories had promised.

“During the Independence Referendum the Prime Minister claimed a Yes vote could mean Scots being thrown out of the EU - the reality is that it is his own policies that are taking us closer to the exit door than ever before.''

The event will be held at The Committee of the Regions in JDE 70 (7th floor) on Thursday, 12th November 2015 at 12.30 pm - 1.45 pm.
