Switzerland to seize asylum seeker valuables

Switzerland is joining ranks with Denmark in a controversial plan to sell off asylum seeker valuables, reports Reuters in the Guardian newspaper. Personal items worth more than 1000 Swiss Frances (€915) will be seized. Those who leave within seven months can have the items returned.
