From 27 to 29 June, 2016, actors from social science academia (including humanities and interdisciplinary institutions), policy circles and non-governmental organizations will gather in Amsterdam to critically review the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their potential for mobilizing the world to a more equitable and environmentally sustainable future.

The United Nations announced Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals that seek to realize the human rights of all, reduce inequality, achieve gender equality and promote sustainable ecosystems. The Goals and targets will stimulate action over the next fifteen years in areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet, including urban life.

Keynote speakers include: Farah Karimi (Director, Oxfam Novib), Abdeluheb Choho (Deputy Mayor, Amsterdam), Pieter van der Vliet, (Director, Multilateral Organisations and Human Rights and Special Envoy for the Sustainable Development Goals, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Netherlands), Hans Mommaas (Director PBL), amongst many other interesting speakers.
