Commission to present common consolidated corporate tax base proposal to MEPs
Met dank overgenomen van Europees Parlement (EP) i, gepubliceerd op dinsdag 25 oktober 2016, 16:05.
Commissioner Pierre Moscovici is set to present the Commission’s new corporate tax proposals in the plenary chamber on Tuesday around 18:30. The package will include, inter alia, a proposal for a common consolidated corporate tax base (CCCTB).
The European Parliament has several times pressed the Commission to propose a common consolidated corporate tax base, which should make corporate taxation in the EU fairer and more transparent.
A CCCTB would give companies operating in the EU a single set of rules for calculating their taxable profits. So a company would have to comply with just one EU-wide system for computing its taxable income, rather than different rules in each member state in which it operates. This reduces the risk of mismatches and loopholes, which are now widely exploited by tax advisors and multinational companies.
