LUX Film Prize: official selection for 2017 revealed
The 10 films selected for the 2017 competition of LUX Film Prize were revealed at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on Sunday, 2 July.
Helga Trüpel, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education, Martina Dlabajová, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgetary Control, Bogdan Wenta, Member of the Committee on Culture and Education and Doris Pack, LUX Film Prize Coordinator, presented the list of films in competition this year.

Three out of these ten films will be selected to take part in the 2017 LUX Film Prize Competition. The three finalists will be announced at the Venice Days press conference in Rome at the end of July 2017 and screened and promoted during the Lux Film Days in all 28 EU Member States from October to December 2017.
The 2017 LUX Film Prize winner will be announced on 15 November in Strasbourg.
TONI ERDMANN by Maren Ade wins the Audience Mention 2016
The "Audience Mention" was created in 2015 and allows the public to vote for one of the three Lux Film Prize finalists. Voter Nora Perrin from France was randomly selected from among all the participants and invited to the Karlovy Vary Film Festival to announce the Mention.
Quick Facts
In order to support the European film industry and help the most significant European (co)productions to circulate beyond their national market, the European Parliament LUX Film Prize subtitles the 3 competing films into the 24 official languages of the European Union and screens them in all 28 EU countries during the LUX Film Days. The winning film will also be made available for the visually and hearing-impaired, and promoted by the European Parliament.
