Mr Juan Manuel Fabra Vallés, President of the European Court of Auditors, will welcome President McAleese to the Court on the occasion of her visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The Irish delegation will include Mr Dick Roche, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mrs Anne Anderson, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU.

President McAleese will arrive at the Court's headquarters in Luxembourg at 16h10 and will be received by President Fabra Vallés and Mrs Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Member of the Court. After an exchange of views in the private office of Mr Fabra Vallés, President Mc Aleese will attend an extraordinary meeting of the Court during which she will be presented with a commemorative medal.

The agenda for the extraordinary meeting is, as follows:

14h20  Presentation of the Members of the Court and the Secretary General by Mr Fabra  Vallés.

16h30  Welcoming address by President Fabra Vallés.

16h35  Address by President McAleese.

    16h40  Presentation of the Court's medal to President McAleese and signing of the Visitors' Book.

The visit will be covered by Europe by Satellite (the EU's audiovisual news agency). A News Item will be broadcast at 19h00 the same evening. The speeches and a selection of photographs will be available on the ECA's web site on the day of the visit:
