Europees Chemicaliënagentschap wil 20 stoffen "zeer zorgwekkend" predikaat geven

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published proposals to identify 20 chemicals as substances of very high concern and as possible candidates for authorisation.

Nineteen substances are proposed because of their potentially serious effects on human health. There are altogether 53 substances on the candidate list. Inclusion on the list imposes new information requirements on suppliers of preparations and articles containing the substances. A list of the substances and their potential use is available on the ECHA website.

Companies that use chemicals identified as substances of very high concern have the legal obligation to inform consumers of the use of such substances in order to allow safe use. Substances of very high concern will eventually end up being prohibited on the market - unless the company is granted authorisation.
