Europese standaarden voor veilige producten (en)

Met dank overgenomen van Directoraat-generaal Ondernemingen en industrie (ENTR) i, gepubliceerd op vrijdag 16 maart 2012.

The General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC defines the tools to be used to assess the safety of products.

Products covered by this Directive which conform to national standards transposing European standards drawn up under the Directive, the references of which have been published by the Commission in the Official Journal of the European Union according to the procedure given in Article 4(2) of the Directive, benefit from a presumption of safety as far as the risks covered by the standards are concerned.

A consolidated list of references of European standards under the General Product Safety Directive was published in the Official Journal Series C (No 59) of 28 February 2012.

The references of two new European standards in the electrotechnical area were published for the first time:

  • on safety for audio, video and similar electronic apparatus and on safety for information technology equipment.
