Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi i said Wednesday he was "shocked" to hear about the resignation of EU i health commissioner John Dalli i, himself a Maltese politican, over allegedly favouring a Maltese tobacco producer. "I promise to nominate another commissioner as quickly as possible," Gonzi said at the EPP congress in Bucharest.
