The 2-day Informal meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council, taking place at the beginning of the Greek Presidency, will bring together the Ministers from the Member States who are responsible for these areas, as well as the Commissioners for Home Affairs and Justice, Citizenship and Fundamental Rights.
Ministers will deal with broader issues with regards to the guidelines of the future development of the JHA area in the EU. On the first day the meeting’s agenda will focus on dossiers related to Justice matters such as Procedural rights and International aspects of the Data Protection Regulation while on the second day, issues related to Home Affairs and particularly Terrorism and Border security will be discussed.

De raadsformatie i Justitie en Binnenlandse Zaken (JBZ) bestaat uit de ministers van justitie en/of binnenlandse zaken. Deze Raad vergadert meestal om de drie maanden, ook informele bijeenkomsten zijn mogelijk. Namens Nederland sluit doorgaans minister van Justitie en Veiligheid David van Weel i (VVD) aan.
De Raad Justitie en Binnenlandse Zaken werkt aan samenwerking en gemeenschappelijk beleid inzake grensoverschrijdende aangelegenheden om zo een Europese ruimte van vrijheid, veiligheid en recht te creëren.
